This position reports to the Director of Accounting.
Position Summary:
The Property Accountant plays a pivotal role in the financial management and success of our hotel properties. This position is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and execution of daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established financial protocols. The Property Accountant will work closely with property management and the corporate accounting team to deliver timely and precise financial reporting.

- Prepares Daily Cash Deposit (Cash Packet)
- Change Orders
- M3 Input of Daily Settlement
- Reviews daily the Advanced Deposit Detail Report
- Reviews daily Guest Ledger Detail Report
- Reviews daily AR Aging Detail Report
- Reviews weekly AP Batches and Aging Report
- Prepares all chargeback reconciliation/responses and send to Corp office
- Maintains and saves Tax exempt back up into the property’s folder in Datto
- Maintains and records all expenses into Dept/s checkbooks
- Maintains, organizes and stores away night audit packet/s daily and monthly
- Performs monthly Bank Count Audits random schedule to verify accuracy (rotating and main safe)
- Responsible for all month end reports and reporting procedures
- Responsible for property’s petty cash disbursement and reimbursement

- Attends hotel and department meetings and other functions required by management
- Communicates all pertinent information to property management and corporate accounting team
- Comply at all times with compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel in such a manner that promotes harmony and goodwill throughout the workplace
- Be familiar with all policies and hotel rules, and hotel terminology
- Must be capable of self-supervision and have the ability to manage time accordingly in order to complete the required work
- Must be results driven with strong organizational and analytical skills
Qualifications:
Qualifications Requirements:
- At least 1 year of progressive experience in accounting or formal training in accounting.
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in multitasking is essential
- Ability to meet the needs of others in a dynamic and fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of M3 Accounting a plus
- Proficiency in Excel is highly advantageous. Alternatively, a comparable combination of education and experience is acceptable
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents, correspondence, and memos and communicate information either verbally or in written form
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to guests, vendors, visitors and employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Demands:
The role of a property accountant primarily involves working in an office environment and requires a combination of mental focus and physical tasks. While it is not overly physically demanding, there are certain physical requirements needed to perform the job effectively.
