Head of Capital Formation

I have been retained by a venture-backed specialty finance company to lead the search for its most senior capital origination hire. The company provides collateralized credit facilities secured by GPU and data center infrastructure, offering capital providers exposure to income-producing compute assets — effectively transforming compute capacity into a bankable asset class.

About The Company

The platform is Series A funded by leading venture and digital asset investors, with announced strategic partnerships including a major global payments company. The founding team draws senior experience from top-tier credit, trading, and digital asset institutions, and has built financial products that have facilitated hundreds of millions of dollars in transaction volume across diverse asset types. The organization is deliberately flat, with a culture that rewards results and rapid execution.

The Opportunity

This is the company's highest hiring priority. The successful candidate will lead a $1.5B capital raise, working directly with the founding team and representing the platform to the capital markets. The role carries full ownership of strategy, relationships, and outcomes, with scope to build the capital formation function as the platform scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full origination pipeline — targeting, initial engagement, structuring, close, and ongoing relationship management — both directly and through placement and syndication partners
• Deepen an established base of crypto-native funds and high-net-worth individuals, where typical conversations range from $50M to $250M
• Drive the strategic expansion into traditional institutional capital: private credit funds, family offices, global banks, and alternative asset managers
• Advise the founding team on positioning, structure, pricing, and investor appetite
• Recruit and manage a junior analyst supporting pipeline execution and investor materials
  
  
  

Candidate Requirements

• A demonstrated track record of originating or leading $250M in institutional capital commitments across private credit, asset-backed finance, structured credit, or fund placement
• Warm, current relationships with institutional allocators, enabling immediate engagement
• MD/Director-level seniority at a bank, placement agent, or fund, with the credibility to represent a $1.5B raise
• An entrepreneurial, self-directed profile suited to a lean, high-autonomy environment
• Direct exposure to GPU, data center, or compute financing is a strong plus
• Prior digital asset experience is valued but not required; willingness to develop fluency in on-chain settlement mechanics is sufficient

Compensation

Base salary of $300K , commensurate with experience, complemented by meaningful success-based compensation tied directly to capital raised and a long-term incentive package.
