Role and Responsibilities:
Prospect is seeking a highly motivated Investment Professional to join its Lower Middle Market Equity (LMME) initiative with a primary focus on deal origination and sourcing. This individual will be responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships that drive proprietary and intermediated investment opportunities across the lower middle market.
 
The role emphasizes front-end sourcing, relationship management, and strategic market coverage – ideal for a professional who combines strong interpersonal and networking skills with an understanding of private credit and lower middle market dynamics.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Source, evaluate, and qualify new investment opportunities in the lower middle market (typically $3–15 million EBITDA)
  
• Develop and maintain relationships with investment banks, business brokers, private equity sponsors, advisors, and company owners.
  
• Represent Prospect Capital at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance market visibility and deal flow.
  
• Collaborate closely with internal investment and underwriting teams to transition qualified opportunities through the investment process.
  
• Track and manage origination activity, maintaining a disciplined and organized pipeline.
  
• Contribute to the strategic development of Prospect’s LMME origination platform and market coverage approach.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated success in originating and developing new deal flow in private credit, leveraged finance, private equity, or related fields.
• Deep relationships and established network across the lower middle market ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of credit fundamentals and investment evaluation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional presence.
• Ownership mentality, entrepreneurial drive, and a self-starter mindset.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
• Prior experience in private credit, investment banking, private equity, or another analytical, transaction-oriented role preferred.
• Strong academic track record.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $300,000 plus annual discretionary performance-based bonus. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and performance.
