Chemical Operator / Raw Materials Operator (Stand-Up Forklift & Reach Truck)
Job Summary
We are seeking a safety-focused Chemical Operator / Raw Materials Operator to support production operations by receiving, staging, transporting, and issuing raw materials within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role requires experience operating stand-up forklifts and reach trucks while strictly following safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate stand-up forklift and reach truck to move raw materials, chemicals, and finished goods
- Load, unload, stage, and deliver materials to production areas
- Work with drums, totes, bags, and pallets of raw chemical materials
- Verify materials using batch tickets, labels, and inventory documentation
- Follow SOPs, SDS/MSDS guidelines, and plant safety procedures
- Perform visual inspections of containers for leaks, damage, or labeling issues
- Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S/housekeeping standards)
- Assist with inventory counts and material tracking
- Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervision
Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights, weekends as required)
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a chemical, manufacturing, or industrial plant environment
- Proficient operating stand-up forklifts and reach trucks
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts
- Comfortable working around chemicals and wearing required PPE
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification
- Experience with hazardous or regulated materials
- Chemical manufacturing / production facility
- PPE required; exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures
Salary : $18 - $20
