Role Overview
A leading HVAC and mechanical contractor in Nassau County, Long Island is looking to add an experienced Purchaser to its team.
The role will cover purchasing across a range of mechanical construction projects, with a strong focus on HVAC equipment, materials, vendor coordination and project-specific procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase HVAC equipment, materials and mechanical components for active projects.
- Use drawings, specifications and equipment schedules to identify purchasing needs.
- Complete equipment buyouts and secure pricing from vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor purchase orders, lead times, equipment releases and deliveries.
- Coordinate purchasing requirements with Project Managers and project teams.
- Work directly with manufacturers and suppliers throughout the procurement process.
- 3 years experience in HVAC or mechanical construction.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC equipment and mechanical systems.
- Confident reading mechanical drawings, specifications and equipment schedules.
- Understanding of how equipment and material procurement fits into mechanical project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- $120,000-$160,000 DOE
