Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient care
- Take dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support infection control procedures through aseptic technique and proper sterilization methods to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Take vital signs and medical history updates to assist with comprehensive patient assessments
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide four-handed dentistry, enhancing efficiency and patient comfort during procedures
- Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims or medical records as needed
- Greet patients as a friendly dental receptionist, scheduling appointments and managing patient flow smoothly
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is a plus
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes in accordance with OSHA guidelines
- Ability to take accurate X-rays, including 3D imaging when required, while maintaining patient safety standards
- Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and dental terminology relevant to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices
- Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; valid CPR certification is advantageous
- Flexibility to work part-time hours.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
