With significant investment in North American operations and ambitious growth plans, this industry leader is seeking a talented Material Planner to join its manufacturing team.
In this role, you'll serve as a critical link between suppliers, purchasing, production, and operations—ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support uninterrupted manufacturing and customer delivery commitments.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain inventory plans that support production schedules while achieving inventory management goals.
- Manage a diverse supplier network and coordinate the daily flow of production materials.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Proactively identify and resolve material shortages before they impact manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate and expedite parts as needed due to inventory discrepancies, quality concerns, production changes, or unexpected demand.
- Analyze demand trends and forecast future material requirements.
- Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to maintain material availability.
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct inventory reviews and implement strategies to reduce excess inventory while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve scheduling or supply chain issues that could impact production targets.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support long-term operational success.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in Material Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Control, or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing inventory levels and coordinating supplier performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- International supply chain experience.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing planning, inventory management, or production scheduling.
- Experience working within complex manufacturing operations with large supplier networks and high-volume parts management.
Skills & Experience
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong forecasting, inventory management, and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to identify risks, solve problems, and drive results.
- Experience supporting large supplier bases and managing hundreds of active production components.
