Temporary Simulation Specialist
Location: Portland, ME
Schedule: 24-32 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Assignment: August 31 through the end of the year
Pay: $22-$26/hr., depending on experience
About the Role
We're looking for a reliable, tech-savvy professional to support the daily operations of a healthcare simulation lab. This temporary position is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, solving technical issues, and helping create a realistic learning environment for students.
You'll prepare simulation rooms, operate training equipment, troubleshoot technology, and assist instructors during hands-on training sessions.
Responsibilities
- Set up simulation labs, equipment, and supplies before training sessions
- Operate and monitor medical simulation mannequins and related technology
- Troubleshoot computers, audio/visual equipment, and simulation technology
- Clean, organize, and maintain simulation equipment and training spaces
- Support instructors during student training sessions
- Demonstrate equipment use for students and staff as needed
- Help maintain inventory and ensure equipment is ready for use
- Assist with other lab and technical support tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in technical support, healthcare, IT, audiovisual support, laboratory support, or a related field
- Comfortable learning new technology and software
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Organized with excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with medical equipment or healthcare technology
- Clinical background such as EMT, nursing, respiratory therapy, or medical assisting
- Experience supporting simulation labs, training environments, or educational settings
- Familiarity with audiovisual equipment and computer systems
