Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our psychiatric services team in Pryor, OK. In this role you will provide outpatient psychiatry care—addressing major mental health disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, substance use co-morbidities, and medication management. This role offers a stable schedule, full scope practice (as allowed by state law), and partnership with a strong support staff—no inpatient nights or weekend call required.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with psychiatric conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, co-occurring substance use)
- Prescribe and monitor psychopharmacologic treatments, including medication adjustment and side-effect management
- Conduct initial psychiatric assessments, follow-up visits, and care planning in collaboration with physicians and clinical team
- Provide education and counseling regarding treatment plans, lifestyle modification, and relapse prevention
- Coordinate care with therapists, counselors, primary care providers, and other ancillary staff
- Maintain all required documentation, maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in practice growth and community outreach as warranted
Qualifications
- Licensed NP or PA in Oklahoma (or eligible for licensure)
- Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry/mental health (for NP: PMHNP certification preferred) or strong outpatient behavioral health experience for PA
- Experience in psychopharmacology, outpatient psychiatry or behavioral health strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and build relationships in a community setting
- Excellent communication skills, patient-centered mindset, and ability to maintain high professional standards
Compensation & Benefits
- Time Off & Leave: 3 weeks (15 days) accrued PTO per year; 6 paid holidays annually; CME allowance paid time off for CME
