Property Tax Funding is hiring a hands-on Corporate Controller/Finance Operations Manager to support the next stage of our growth.
We are a stable, established specialty finance company with 18 years in business. As the highest-rated property tax lender in Texas, we have helped more than 12,000 property owners finance residential and commercial property taxes. This is a tactical finance and accounting role today with the opportunity to grow into a broader senior financial leadership position as our loan portfolio expands.
What You'll Do:
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations using QuickBooks
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial reports for ownership and senior leadership
- Manage vendor relationships, invoice review, payment controls, and expense tracking
- Reconcile legal services activity and related account-level charges
- Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations, lender reporting, and borrowing base support
- Work with banks and financing partners supporting our loan portfolio
- Lead operational improvement initiatives across accounting, finance, servicing, and administrative functions
- Develop, document, and standardize SOPs to improve consistency, accountability, and scalability
- Identify inefficiencies and implement business process optimization initiatives
- Improve accounting, reporting, vendor management, and internal control processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, compliance, and special finance projects
- Help prepare the company for a public securitization of its debt
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for more than a traditional accountant. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial and operational leader who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and building systems that support growth.
You should be:
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Strong in QuickBooks and Excel
- Comfortable reviewing reconciliations, invoices, reports, and supporting documentation
- Experienced in documenting workflows and developing practical SOPs
- Skilled at identifying bottlenecks, reducing manual work, and improving business processes
- Proactive and willing to roll up your sleeves
- Comfortable working directly with ownership and senior leadership
- Interested in lending, banking, specialty finance, loan servicing, or structured finance
- Able to manage tactical responsibilities today while growing into a more strategic role
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred
- 5 years of relevant accounting, finance, controllership, banking, lending, or servicing experience
- QuickBooks and strong Excel experience required
- Experience with process improvement, SOP development, internal controls, or operational optimization strongly preferred
- Experience in specialty finance, lending, banking, private credit, or loan servicing strongly preferred
- Experience with lender reporting, borrowing base certificates, audits, portfolio reporting, or securitization is a plus
