We are seeking a full-time Compliance Manager to oversee housing compliance programs and related matters for Brookland Manor, a residential apartment community located in Washington, DC. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong experience in Project-Based Section 8 housing, affordable housing compliance, HUD requirements, LIHTC, and property management operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage housing compliance programs, including LIHTC, HUD, and Section 8.
- Conduct audits, ensure adherence to HUD functions, and oversee EIV requirements.
- Perform accurate income calculations and rent determinations.
- Coordinate with the property management team to maintain compliance standards
Required skills and experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Compliance Manager in multi-family Project-Based Section 8 housing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a professional environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the HUD 4350.3 Handbook, IRS Section 42 compliance, and multifamily property management concepts.
- Experience with MOR audits and general HUD compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and self-motivation.
- Advanced math skills for accurate income and rent calculations.
- Proficiency with Windows-based software and general computer literacy.
- General accounting and budgeting experience.
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) certification preferred.
- Experience with Yardi Affordable required.
- Reliable transportation.
