Position Overview
The Accounting Supervisor / Manager will help oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of properties, with a primary focus on reviewing reconciliations and financial statements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys providing oversight, and brings strong discipline and accuracy to financial review. This person may help manage a team and will play a key role in ensuring accounting integrity and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for assigned real estate portfolio
- Review and approve property-level financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to staff accountants (with potential for direct reports)
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Partner closely with property management and operations teams to support business needs
- Assist with audits, reporting packages, and ad-hoc analysis
- Support process improvements to drive efficiency in a high-volume accounting environment
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience; real estate experience strongly preferred
- Experience reviewing financials and reconciliations in a high-volume setting
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Excellent communication and collaborative mindset
Salary : $135,000 - $150,000
