Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time) – Chenango, NY
Schedule: 5 hours/day, 4 days a week (Mon–Fri)
Setting: Outpatient
Pay: $90–$95/hour
Position Summary:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) provides comprehensive psychiatric care to youth ages 10–21 within the Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. This role includes psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, psychopharmacology, and ongoing monitoring. The PNP also collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team, provides training on mental health and medication management, and supports families in understanding treatment strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnose, and manage treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications for youth.
- Collaborate with the ACT interdisciplinary team and external providers.
- Educate staff on psychiatric conditions, medications, and treatment strategies.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning.
- Build supportive relationships with youth and families.
- Ensure compliance with NYS practice requirements and documentation standards.
Requirements:
- MSN with Psychiatric/Mental Health NP certification.
- Active NY State NP license & DEA license.
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric NP experience with child/adolescent populations.
- Experience with psychopharmacology and DSM-based diagnosis.
- Ability to use electronic health records.
- Valid driver's license and insurability.
