- Graduate of an accredited high school or GED program.
- Maintenance apprenticeship desirable.
- Computer knowledge is desirable.
- Must be in good physical and mental health
- Ability to work independently or part of a group
- Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and perform effectively during peak periods of activity and emergency situations
- Effectively interacts with residents, their family members, and the healthcare team members
- Implement required maintenance procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner meeting all federal, state, and local requirements, while providing a safe environment for our residents.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
- Manage emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner
- Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Basic understanding of following step-by-step instructions.
- Follows and understand written and oral directions.
- Knowledge of equipment used in long-term care (e.g., lifts, wheelchairs, Geri chairs, and scales).
