Promise Place, also known as the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence, is dedicated to preventing domestic violence through awareness programs and educational training. We provide safe environments for victims and their families through legal advocacy, emergency shelters, and transitional housing. Our 24-hour crisis hotline offers crisis counseling, support, and information to those in need. We aim to empower communities to eradicate domestic violence and promote healing for our clients.
Role Description
This is a full-time/part-time on-site role for a Shelter Advocate based in Fayetteville, GA. The Shelter Advocate will provide direct support to shelter residents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This role includes crisis intervention, emotional support, and connecting survivors with community resources. Advocates also assist with hotline calls, documentation, and daily shelter operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Experience in human services, crisis work, or advocacy a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and background check, required.
