The HR & Payroll Administrator serves as the primary owner of the payroll and benefits administration processing for Promera, ensuring every employee is paid accurately, consistently, and on time, every time. This role oversees the complete payroll workflow in Paycom, including data validation, integration oversight, exception management, and employee support.
The primary function of this role is dedicated to payroll operations and benefits administration. Additionally, the role supports broader HR functions such as employee and manager self service, compliance administration, and administrative support for the HR function. This position is critical to maintaining a smooth, reliable, and high trust People & Culture function across a multistate workforce.
What You’ll Work On
Payroll Administration (50%)
- Process weekly/biweekly payroll in Paycom, including:
- Importing time data from external systems (our ERP, Acumatica)
- Verifying hours, prevailing wage supplements, bonuses, and deductions
- Reviewing exception reports and correcting errors
- Maintain employee payroll records in Paycom and support accurate data entry
- Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and reconciliation as needed
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions
- Facilitate ad hoc payroll reporting requests
Benefit Administration (25%)
- Support day today benefits administration across medical, dental, vision, life, and ancillary plans
- Process benefit enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, and open enrollment changes
- Reconcile benefits deductions between payroll, carrier invoices, and enrollment reports
- Support open enrollment activities, including employee communications and data validation
- Serve as a knowledgeable and trusted resource for team members by answering benefits questions clearly and respectfully.
- Assist with benefits audits, eligibility reviews, and documentation management.
HR & Administrative Support (25%)
- Act as a front line resource for employee and manager questions, triaging and routing inquiries to appropriate SME’s
- Ensure incoming mail, checks, and documents are routed to the correct departments with proper chain of custody
- Maintain digital and physical personnel files in accordance with company retention and compliance standards
- Support company wide communications, announcements, and document updates as needed
- Assist HR Operations with administrative projects such as reporting, audits, policy updates, or compliance tasks, ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned

Role Requirements & Perks
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience
- Experience in multi-location or multi-state environments preferred
- Customer-service mindset with a focus on supporting both hourly and salaried employees
- Experience with Paycom (highly preferred) or another enterprise HRIS/payroll system
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (email, phone, and in-person)
- Strong excel skills, calendaring with Outlook and Teams experience
- High attention to detail and accuracy, especially with employee data
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
