ProMedix Health is a Medicare-focused virtual care company based in Southern California, delivering Chronic Care Management (CCM), Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), and related programs to patients across medical practices, physician groups, and health systems. We are growing across multiple markets and business lines and need a senior accounting leader to build and own our financial infrastructure.

The Opportunity

ProMedix Health is looking for a Controller with deep healthcare accounting experience who understands the financial complexity of a Medicare-focused virtual care organization. This is not a general accounting role. We need someone who has worked inside complex healthcare environments, understands how CPT billing drives revenue recognition, knows how Medicare and managed care reimbursement cycles work, and can build financial infrastructure that supports multi-entity operations, regulatory compliance, and company-wide management reporting.

Deep healthcare industry experience is required - minimum 3 years in a Medicare-focused healthcare organization with direct familiarity with CPT billing, RCM data flows, and Medicare reimbursement. Candidates without this background will not be considered regardless of accounting credentials.

Core Responsibilities

General Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, and month-end close across all legal entities - delivering a complete financial reporting package to the CEO on a defined monthly schedule
  • Manage AP, AR, cash management, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
  • Oversee payroll in coordination with the third-party payroll processor - review for accuracy, ensure correct GL coding, and reconcile each period
  • Coordinate contractor payments through the third-party payment system - approval, coding, and GL reconciliation
  • Own the multi-state compliance filing calendar - all state tax filings, business registrations, and regulatory deadlines tracked and met without exception
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation standards and internal controls at all times

Healthcare Revenue & RCM Financial Oversight

  • Maintain a working understanding of CPT billing and Medicare reimbursement cycles - ensuring revenue recognition policies correctly reflect services delivered and reimbursements received
  • Work closely with the Director of Revenue Cycle & Compliance to ensure RCM data feeds accurately into the financial statements each month
  • Ensure revenue is correctly recognized across B2B contracts, D2C Medicare billing, and any grant-supported program funding
  • Monitor AR from a financial reporting perspective - assess collectability and ensure appropriate reserves are reflected

Multi-Entity & Multi-State Financial Management

  • Own multi-entity accounting - clean separation of entity finances, correct intercompany accounting, and accurate consolidated reporting
  • Manage state-specific financial compliance as the company expands - state tax registrations, entity filings, and financial reporting obligations
  • Support financial setup of new market entities - bank accounts, payment processing, and payer enrollment financial requirements

Company-Wide Management Reporting & KPI Framework

  • Own the design and delivery of a unified monthly management report - financial and operational KPIs giving the CEO and department heads clear visibility into performance across all business lines
  • Collaborate with department leads to define the metrics and activity KPIs each function is accountable for and incorporate them into a single integrated report
  • Maintain consistent format, delivery date, and KPI definitions month over month - flag variances and emerging risks with context and recommended actions

Financial Planning

  • Build and maintain the annual budget in collaboration with the CEO - revenue projections by program, headcount costs, and operating expense forecasts
  • Develop financial models supporting key business decisions - market entry costs, program unit economics, and contract profitability
  • Own accounting systems and recommend upgrades as transaction volume and complexity grow

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Deep healthcare industry experience required - minimum 3 years in a Medicare-focused healthcare organization with direct familiarity with CPT billing, RCM data flows, Medicare reimbursement, and healthcare compliance standards. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting role with full month-end close ownership
  • Multi-entity accounting experience including intercompany transactions and consolidated financial statements
  • Deep healthcare industry experience required - minimum 3 years in a Medicare-focused healthcare organization with direct familiarity with CPT billing, RCM data flows, Medicare reimbursement, and healthcare compliance standards
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain audit-ready documentation standards and internal controls at all times
  • Experience coordinating with third-party payroll and payment processors - reconciliation and GL coding
  • Experience building accounting infrastructure and management reporting in a growth-stage organization
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or comparable platforms - strong Excel and financial modeling skills
  • CPA preferred but not required - relevant healthcare accounting experience weighted equally

Why ProMedix

  • Own a critical financial function at a company growing rapidly across multiple markets and programs
  • Build financial infrastructure and management reporting from the ground up in a complex, intellectually engaging environment
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • A mission-driven company improving outcomes for Medicare patients managing chronic conditions
