Machine Shop Supervisor

Job Description:

Working with the production and planning teams, while overseeing the department, which operates across two shifts this position will:

• Lead the team of employees including, but not limited to, the Saw, Manual Mill, CNC Lathe and CNC Mill Operators
• Manage employee performance including ensuring accuracy, standard of performance for both quality and quantity / output of work
• Utilize the ERP system to schedule and assign work orders based on priority, machine capacity, and machinist ability
• Train employees working on various shifts.  This includes the operation, programming, materials, tooling, quality, process improvements and safety initiatives
• Program using Mastercam for SolidWorks
• Evaluate department needs and ensure machines are operating efficiently
• Assist Machinists with technical questions and give direction
• Communicate company information, hold people accountable to company expectations, assist in supporting positive company culture
• Communicate any issues that need addressed to management
• Assists with performance reviews for staff
• Move product and equipment as needed

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years of Machining experience. Preferably CNC Vertical milling and CNC Lathe experience. Job shop environment
• 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2-year technical degree required in machining
• Experience working with large machines and parts preferred.
• Excellent people skills.
• Experience in quality management systems
• Experience with implementing or working in a Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel & Word primarily
• Proficient in Mastercam and Mastercam for SolidWorks
