Job Title: Real Estate Operations Accountant Company: Prologis US Real Estate Operations Accountant – Denver, CO A day in the life Our Accounting team oversees the company’s financial well-being and supports operational and business planning in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We are entrusted to properly account for and report the business activity at our large and growing company. As a US Real Estate Operations Accountant in our Denver office, you will be responsible for preparing all aspects of property tax operations including accruals, payments, and reconciliations. You will play a critical role in supporting process improvements and maintaining a high standard of accuracy in financial reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to contributing to departmental goals, all while upholding a results-driven and customer-focused mindset. Key Responsibilities: Execute daily property tax accounting operations with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards. Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations, proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies. Escalate complex issues to the Property Accounting Senior as appropriate. Perform monthly property tax accruals and prepare corresponding journal entries to ensure financial accuracy and completeness. Review property tax payments across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and demonstrating strong knowledge of payment frequency, timing requirements, and related accounting treatment. Conduct detailed property tax true-ups and generate Yardi-compatible files for seamless system integration. Participate in process improvement initiatives and support a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Actively seek and apply feedback to grow professionally and support team success. Contribute ideas and explore new approaches to optimize workflows and challenge outdated practices. Oversee direct billing processes for property taxes, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, reconciliation, and payment tracking. Demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting 2 years of progressive experience, preferably at a large multi-entity company or public accounting firm. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word) and reporting systems (PeopleSoft and Yardi Property Management experience preferred). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated focus on process improvement and data accuracy. Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions to management and collaborate effectively with operations, accounting, and finance teams. Hiring Salary Range of: $64,000 - $84,000.
