Job Description
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to support supplier quality, product quality, and continuous improvement activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams on quality systems, corrective actions, PPAP, process audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Implement quality system procedures and recommend improvements to achieve quality and operational goals.
- Develop and maintain quality initiatives focused on customer satisfaction and defect reduction.
- Work with suppliers on quality tools and activities, including:
- Control Plans
- FMEA
- Process Capability Studies
- MSA (Measurement System Analysis)
- SPC
- PPAP
- Provide technical quality support to purchasing and cross-functional teams.
- Serve as the primary quality liaison between suppliers and internal teams.
- Analyze supplier quality trends and data to identify problems and improvement opportunities.
- Work with suppliers to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure sustainable improvements.
- Support supplier development activities and improve supplier process controls.
- Analyze finished-product and customer complaint data and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform supplier PPAP reviews and obtain necessary project team approvals.
- Conduct supplier process audits and key product audits according to established plans.
- Follow up on supplier improvement plans and ensure timely completion.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of supplier quality issues.
- Prepare and present technical quality information to suppliers, purchasing, engineering, and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with quality practices and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Knowledge of ISO/QS requirements.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools, including:
- SPC
- Control Plans
- FMEA
- MSA
- Process Capability
- DOE
- PPAP
- Experience with GD&T and blueprint reading.
- Experience with mechanical, electronics, machining, or assembly manufacturing processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze quality data and identify root causes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with suppliers, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
- Fluent English communication skills.
