Pay Rate:

$30 - $40 Hourly NOOT

Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior CAD Designer to support design initiatives for Virginia Class model file conversions. This role involves converting 3D models into Siemens NX and setting up construction views across multiple trade disciplines. The ideal candidate will assist in developing and modifying designs to support manufacturing and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert and develop 3D models using Siemens NX
• Assist in creating and modifying component and system designs
• Utilize CAD/CAM tools such as NX and CATIA
• Prepare basic layouts, sketches, and design concepts
• Support calculations, studies, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and planning teams
• Ensure designs meet manufacturability, material, and contract requirements
• Support multi-discipline efforts including structural, electrical, piping, mechanical, ventilation, and sheet metal

Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree and 1 year of experience

OR

• 2 years of related experience in lieu of degree

OR

• 4 years of non-related experience in lieu of degree

OR

• Apprentice Certificate or Navy Nuclear Power School

Preferred Qualifications

• AAS Degree in Drafting & Design or Engineering Technology
• Experience with Siemens NX and/or Autodesk Inventor
• Exposure to manufacturing or installation drawings
• Trade experience or training (structural, electrical, piping, mechanical, etc.)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
