Job Summary
The Service Writer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely estimate preparation and will follow up to ensure the customer provides approval to complete service repairs. The Service Writer will build long-lasting relationships with customers by exploring their needs and expectations, providing specific measurable goals, and achieving results within a customer's expected timeframe.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate repair estimates for customers
- Gather all needed information parts, outside repairs, labor, etc.
- Formulate proposal and present to the customer
- Support specialized products line
- Provide sales staff, service departments and customers with accurate estimates within 24 hours of receiving the request
- Maintain estimate records
- Maintain good relationship with outside repair vendors

Educational/Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and three to five years one to two years of experience in material handling service environment or similar industry. The Service Writer will have proficient knowledge of Microsoft products including Outlook and Office 365. The ideal candidate will effectively source purchases from online or catalogue inventory which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to associates, customers, and managers, while protecting the organization's values by maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
