Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of the facility. This individual will lead, manage, and support the nursing department while ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality resident care, and efficient staffing practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and medication aides.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that meets or exceeds state and federal regulations.
- Manage staff scheduling, recruitment, orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, administrators, interdisciplinary teams, and families.
- Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and compassion.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure readiness for surveys and inspections.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in [State]
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
- Proven understanding of CMS regulations, MDS, and survey readiness
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of infection control, resident rights, and quality improvement processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Prior Director of Nursing experience mandatory
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., PointClickCare)
