What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Specialist position at PROJECTUS?
Overview
This role is for an MRI professional who wants to step beyond the scanner without losing touch with the technology. Someone who enjoys problem-solving, protocol optimisation, and helping other technologists get the absolute best out of their systems. You will work closely with clinical teams, travel regularly, and have real ownership over how you plan your time and impact sites.
If you are the person others turn to when protocols need fixing, workflows need improving, or a system is not performing as it should, this role is built for you.
The Story
This team works at the intersection of advanced MRI technology and real-world clinical delivery. The mission is simple: make MRI faster, better, and more consistent for technologists and patients alike. You will be trusted to operate independently, plan your own diary, and be the clinical expert on the ground. This is not a desk role and it is not a sales role. It is a chance to influence how MRI is actually practiced, site by site, protocol by protocol.
The Role
You will act as a clinical and technical expert supporting MRI departments through protocol development, optimisation, training, and troubleshooting.
Key responsibilities include:
• Building, optimising, and standardising MRI protocols
• Delivering hands-on training to technologists and clinical teams
• Supporting sites during implementations and upgrades
• Troubleshooting image quality, workflow, and technical challenges
• Acting as a trusted clinical resource across multiple sites and systems
Travel & Working Pattern
• 2 to 3 days of travel per week
• Travel is typically Monday to Wednesday
• You plan and manage your own diary
• One office-based week per month
Experience & Background
Required:
• 5 years of hands-on MRI experience
• Strong protocol development and optimisation experience
• Fast learner with a high level of self-motivation
• Comfortable working independently and applying themselves quickly
• Technically confident and digitally savvy
Highly desirable:
• Applications or applications-adjacent background
• Troubleshooting experience across image quality and workflow
• Experience as a Technical Coordinator or Lead MRI Technologist
• MRSO background
• Experience across multiple MRI vendors and systems
Who This Suits
This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and technical depth. You want influence without being stuck behind a console or tied to one site. You care about quality, efficiency, and helping other technologists succeed. You are comfortable being the expert in the room and trusted to deliver.
This is a step forward for someone who wants broader impact without leaving MRI behind.
