Summer Art Education Intern
Salary: Unpaid - Volunteer hours
Hours/week: 15-20 hrs/week (Monday-Friday, half days)
Start Date: June 1, 2026 plus a training session in May
End Date: August 7, 2026
Job Description:
projectART Wimberley is a nonprofit that supports art education and provides creative opportunities for youth in Wimberley and surrounding areas. We are seeking enthusiastic, creative, and motivated high school or college students to join our team as Summer Camp Interns. This is an excellent opportunity for students, especially those pursuing degrees in art, education, or related fields, to gain hands-on experience in an engaging, arts-based educational environment.
Interns will play an active role in supporting our teaching staff, working directly with children ages 5β15, and helping bring creative learning experiences to life.
This is a part-time, in-person position in Wimberley, Texas.
Ideal Candidate:
- Current college students (art education majors strongly encouraged to apply!)
- Passionate about art, education, and/or working with children
- Positive, reliable, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Clear background check
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with daily art lessons and classroom activities
- Help facilitate small groups of students in creative projects
- Supervise children during outdoor play and lunch periods
- Support classroom management in a positive and engaging way
- Prepare and organize art supplies and materials
- Assist with daily setup and cleanup of classrooms and shared spaces
- Contribute to maintaining a fun, safe, and inclusive camp environment
