What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Litigation Associate position at Project Recruit?
Project Recruit has partnered with a top regional law firm that services clients across New York state, as well as nationally and internationally, and is ranked among the country’s top law firms seeking to add a talented, driven defense litigation mass torts attorney to its team. They are a multi-disciplinary law firm with more than 200 lawyers in offices throughout New York state in Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, New York City, Rochester, Saratoga Springs, Syracuse, Uniondale, and White Plains, as well as in New Haven, Connecticut and Newark, New Jersey. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent our clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedings
- Take and defend depositions
- Research various factual and legal issues and collaborate with senior attorneys about strategies
- Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, briefs, etc.
- Examination of records and transactions underlying business disputes and investigations as to potential client claims
- Commitment to working in a variety of commercial litigation practice areas
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to provide comprehensive legal support to our clients
- The firm requires a minimum of 1800 billable hours annually
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years’ experience in litigation required
- Experience in complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferred
- Admission to New York bar required
- Admission to Connecticut and/or Massachusetts bar preferred
- Federal or state judicial clerkship experience preferred
- Must have Juris Doctorate degree with an ABA accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar
- Must have excellent research and writing skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated high level organizational skills for prioritizing workload
- Demonstrated ability to absorb, process and understand new information rapidly
- Maintains high standards of performance
- Exhibits conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility
- Must have a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude
- Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization

Salary : $138,000 - $175,000
