Community Engagement & Wellness Associate, PLN Downtown Raleigh

Project LeanNation Downtown Raleigh
Raleigh, NC Part Time
POSTED ON 9/11/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/11/2026

About Project LeanNation

Project LeanNation helps people stay consistent with their nutrition and wellness goals through chef-prepared meals, personalized nutrition support, accountability, and community.

As we prepare to open our Downtown Raleigh location at Seaboard Station, we are building a team that will help introduce Project LeanNation to the community, develop local partnerships, support Founding Member growth, and create meaningful relationships with prospective members.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to help build a new business from the ground up. Hours and responsibilities will evolve as the Downtown Raleigh location opens and grows.

What This Role Is Really About

We are looking for a strong people person who is comfortable getting out into the community, starting conversations, building relationships, and helping people understand how Project LeanNation can support their health and nutrition goals.

You will represent Project LeanNation at local businesses, fitness studios, wellness events, apartment communities, run clubs, community organizations, and other partnership opportunities throughout Raleigh.

You should be comfortable walking into a business or event, introducing yourself to people you do not know, starting conversations, and following up afterward without needing someone to tell you every step to take.

This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, dependable, comfortable talking with new people, and motivated by helping build something from the ground up.

Pre-Launch Focus: Community Outreach & Member Growth

  • Represent Project LeanNation at local events, pop-ups, fitness studios, run clubs, apartment communities, businesses, and wellness partnerships.
  • Build relationships with prospective members, local businesses, fitness professionals, and community partners.
  • Introduce Project LeanNation and explain our nutrition, wellness, and membership offerings in a clear and approachable way.
  • Support Founding Member recruitment and pre-launch membership growth.
  • Generate prospective-member leads through events, partnerships, and community outreach.
  • Help identify new businesses, organizations, events, and communities where Project LeanNation should have a presence.
  • Conduct scheduled outreach visits and occasional drop-ins with prospective partners.
  • Participate in community activations, sampling events, wellness events, and promotional opportunities.
  • Bring new ideas for reaching potential members and growing local awareness.

Lead Follow-Up & Relationship Building

  • Collect prospective-member information at events and community activations.
  • Enter leads into the appropriate CRM/storefront system.
  • Complete timely phone, text, or other follow-up with prospective members.
  • Maintain organized records of outreach activity, conversations, and follow-up needs.
  • Help move prospective members from initial awareness to deeper engagement with Project LeanNation.
  • Build authentic relationships rather than relying only on transactional sales conversations.
  • Follow established lead-management processes and ensure opportunities do not fall through the cracks.

Member & Wellness Education

  • Explain Project LeanNation services, meals, nutrition support, and membership options.
  • Help people understand how Project LeanNation may fit into their lifestyle, schedule, activity level, and goals.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive experience for prospective and current members.
  • Learn Project LeanNation’s products, services, and wellness philosophy through company-provided training.
  • Know when to refer nutrition-related questions to appropriate nutrition professionals or leadership.

After Opening: Member Experience & In-Store Support

As the Downtown Raleigh location opens, the role will expand to include member education and basic in-store responsibilities.

These may include:

  • Welcoming and engaging members in the store.
  • Supporting member onboarding.
  • Assisting with InBody assessments after appropriate training.
  • Helping members understand basic assessment results and wellness goals.
  • Supporting member follow-up and recurring assessments.
  • Processing customer transactions.
  • Answering phone inquiries professionally.
  • Helping maintain an organized and welcoming store environment.
  • Supporting inventory organization and product restocking.
  • Assisting with basic opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Supporting member pickup and fulfillment processes.

Community outreach, partnerships, events, and member recruitment will remain part of the role after opening.

What We’re Looking For

We are especially interested in candidates with experience or demonstrated ability in areas such as:

  • Relationship building
  • Coaching or instruction

  • Campus or community engagement
  • Ambassador programs
  • Hospitality or customer service

Formal nutrition experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.

We care more about your ability to connect with people, take initiative, follow through, and represent the brand well than about having a specific degree.

Schedule, Travel & Physical Requirements

  • Part-time position, approximately 20–30 hours per week.
  • Schedule may vary during pre-launch based on events and outreach opportunities.
  • Some evening and weekend availability may be required.
