What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Residential Assistant (5-7 AM Position) position at Project Hope for the Homeless?
Family Residential Assistant (5-7 am as needed)
Duties:
- Provide assistance and support to residents in the family homeless shelter
- Provide informal support and work with Residential Specialist in provision of shelter routine (oversight of meals, chores, play/homework time, educational groups, bedtime);
- Distribution of needed supplies or vouchers for laundry, clothing, transportation;
- Ensure resident rights are respected and upheld at all times
- Assist with light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and organizing shelter
- Help oversee the volunteers on duty and give them tasks to do
Requirements:
- Experience in providing care for individuals in an assisted living or similar setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor
- Ability to work well in a team environment
