Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Assistant to join our team in providing shelter, care and guidance to individuals in a shelter setting. This role involves assisting residents with daily living activities and ensuring their well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to residents in areas including oversight of nightly routine of cleaning and meal distribution, provision of showers and distribution of supplies
- Offer informal support to shelter guests
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Assist with nightly security check-in
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the highest quality of care for the guests
Qualifications
- Experience in direct support or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of residential living environments or experience in social service setting
- Ability to handle various tasks with patience and empathy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification in first aid is desirable
