What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Community Outreach and Strategic Partnerships position at Project FoodBox?
We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven professional to lead sales growth of medically tailored meals and groceries to individuals facing food insecurity and chronic health conditions through community engagement efforts across New York State and East Coast expansion states. This hybrid role blends sales strategy, account management, and outreach to expand our footprint through contracting, subcontracting and program management with the nine Social Care Networks and health partnerships. The ideal candidate will cultivate strong relationships with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), and other key stakeholders while managing utilization and referrals through our social network platform. Expand our Project FoodBox program with new partners to drive positive health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Contracting
- Develop and execute sales strategies targeting the 9 Social Care Networks for Project FoodBox nutrition programs.
- Manage contracting, subcontracting and onboarding efforts to drive revenue growth.
- Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities with health and social care entities.
- Scout additional opportunities to partner with CBOs, health plans and government agencies on nutrition pilot or benefit programs.
Community Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with CBOs, FQHC, and FBOs across the Eastern Region.
- Organize and lead community outreach events to promote services and increase visibility.
- Represent the organization at public forums, health fairs, and local events.
Account Management
- Monitor and manage service utilization and referral activity through the social network platform.
- Ensure timely delivery of services and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Customer Service team to resolve issues and improve client experience.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Provide regular updates and performance reports to the Head of Sales.
- Engage in bi-directional communication with the Manager of Community Engagement to align outreach strategies with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preference for majors in Public Health, Nutrition, Sales, or related fields.
- 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or community outreach in the area of health-related social needs with an acute understanding of the importance of food as medicine.
- Strong understanding of New York’s health and social care landscape.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, faith-based groups, universities, and other stakeholders to increase referrals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including client services, culinary, and other outreach coordinators to ensure services align with community needs.
- Ability to travel across NY State as needed.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft applications and social network platforms is a plus.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
