🚨 We’re Hiring: Director of Strategic Partnerships
📍 Remote-friendly role | California preferred (Costa Mesa hybrid optional with occasional travel required)
💰 $130K–$145K base up to 20% bonus benefits
Project FoodBox is scaling Food as Medicine programs nationally, delivering medically tailored groceries and nutrition support those in underserved communities through innovative healthcare partnerships.
As we continue to grow nationally, we’re hiring a Director of Strategic Partnerships to help expand our impact across Medicaid, Older Americans Act (OAA), and PACE programs.
This is not a traditional sales role.
This person will lead strategic growth initiatives, develop payer and community partnerships, drive managed care engagement, and help position medically tailored nutrition programs as critical components of value-based care and population health strategies.
The role sits at the intersection of healthcare innovation, strategic partnerships, and mission-driven growth.
The role spans:
✅ Medicaid & Managed Care Growth
Building and expanding relationships with managed care organizations (MCOs), payer partners, and healthcare stakeholders to support growth across California, New York, and future markets. Contracting through private and RFP procurement processes.
✅ Strategic Partnership Development
Identifying and developing new opportunities across Medicaid, PACE, OAA, public health, and community-based healthcare ecosystems.
✅ Value-Based Care & Food as Medicine Innovation
Helping position Medically Tailored Meals (MTM) and Medically Tailored Groceries (MTG) programs as evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
✅ Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Expansion
Partnering closely with operations, clinical, community, and executive leadership teams to support scalable growth initiatives and innovative partnership models.
We’re looking for someone who can meet with a health plan executive in the morning, collaborate on a new partnership strategy in the afternoon, and help drive mission-aligned growth initiatives throughout the day.
Ideal background:
• 6–10 years of experience in healthcare partnerships, business development, managed care, Medicaid, public health, or value-based care environments
• Experience developing strategic payer, MCO, or community-based partnerships
• Strong understanding of healthcare systems, social determinants of health, and population health initiatives
• Experience working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or high-growth environments preferred
• Experience in nonprofit and/or grant-funded environments highly desirable
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) strongly preferred
