Journeyman Electrician – Traveling PositionOverview
TradesMan-X is seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join a growing team serving clients throughout Western Minnesota. This position offers a company vehicle and the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects across the region.
The service territory extends from the Canadian border south to Canby, Minnesota, making this an excellent opportunity for an electrician who enjoys working independently, traveling throughout the state, and solving complex electrical challenges. Your expertise will help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable electrical operations while supporting ongoing facility maintenance and production activities.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, controls, and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Diagnose electrical issues using testing equipment, including multimeters and ohmmeters.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and automated control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Complete service calls at customer locations throughout Western Minnesota.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation using CMMS or company reporting systems.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide exceptional service.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Participate in occasional welding or fabrication tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Current Journeyman Electrician License required.
- 3 years of commercial preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with PLCs, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Welding and mechanical maintenance experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Clean driving record and ability to travel throughout Western Minnesota.
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.

Territory
This position services customers throughout Western Minnesota, covering an area from the Canadian border south to Canby, Minnesota. Daily travel within the assigned territory is required using a company-provided vehicle.
