Overview
We are actively seeking a Commissioning & Field Support Technician. In this role, you will bridge the gap between in-house electro-mechanical assembly and on-site commissioning/support at customer facilities. You’ll help install, test, and maintain complex equipment, train end users, and deliver the kind of service that turns customers into long-term partners.
Responsibilities
Commissioning & Installation
- Assist with on-site installation and commissioning of equipment, following technical guidelines and safety protocols
- Perform routine checks/adjustments during commissioning to ensure equipment meets specifications
- Capture field feedback and communicate design changes/issues back to the engineering team
Customer Training & Support
- Help prepare and deliver customer training on equipment operation and maintenance
- Provide post-install support and maintenance, resolving issues quickly and professionally
Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct maintenance checks, troubleshoot problems, and help prevent downtime
- Document technical issues and solutions to build internal knowledge for future service calls
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed commissioning records and customer interaction documentation (stored for team access)
- Create and maintain Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, troubleshooting guides, and step-by-step site procedures
- Develop training programs for customers and internal teams
- Produce customer-facing reports before/during/after commissioning and field support projects
✅ Travel is a core requirement: Up to 50% travel, including domestic (90%) and international (10%) assignments. Most assignments are 3-5 days, however, some may be up to 2 weeks at a time.
What We’re Looking For
- Technical diploma or associate degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field
- Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with hand/power tools (electrical and mechanical)
- Ability to read or learn electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Clear communication skills and a customer-first mindset
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
Nice to Have
- Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, or field service
- Exposure to industrial gas or related environments (e.g., ASU, CO₂ plants, cryogenics)
- Familiarity with safe work practices/PPE requirements
Working Conditions
- Field-based role at customer sites; PPE required on many sites
- Industrial environments may include lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
- Varied environmental conditions while on-site
