HVAC Maintenance Technician

Progressive Refrigeration is seeking a Refrigeration/HVAC Technician to support assigned locations located in Northwest Ohio. As a member of the Facilities team, candidates are responsible for repairing and maintaining the refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and performing electrical repairs for all assigned locations; is also accountable for performing other functions necessary to maintaining operation, including welding, light carpentry, and plumbing.

Principal Accountabilities:

Responsible for supporting assigned locations and/or projects as required

Candidate will be in emergency call rotation among other team members, supporting all locations during designated on-call period (thus flexible availability required)

Must have ability to troubleshoot and determine causes of operating errors/problems and determine best, most efficient and cost effective next steps

Must have the skills to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with the internal customer, which includes our store teams and corporate support team

Must be able to operate the following equipment/machinery: hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment

Must be organized, self-motivated, and have ability to stay on task while providing prompt and efficient service to our store locations

Must have the ability to balance and discern priorities of individual tasks by need and function.

Must have ability to provide clear direction to store associates involved with a particular task in a manner to maintain store operations and to ensure task is completed efficiently and effectively

Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience:

Must be certified to handle refrigerant

Must have strong electrical background for troubleshooting electric circuits

Must be a licensed driver with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds from the ground to above the chest. Must be able to continuously move about and requires standing and walking the majority of work shift. Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, reaching, and stretching throughout work shift is required. Must be able to step on and off equipment including ladders. Must be able to withstand cold and hot temperatures for moderate, intermittent periods of time. Requires working in varying noise levels due to equipment operation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
