Production Scheduler
Overview:
The Production Scheduler will coordinate production schedules to ensure products are manufactured efficiently and on time. As a Production Scheduler, you will work closely with various departments to balance demand and capacity, optimize workflow, and support achieving production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and production targets.
- Coordinate with the production, purchasing, and customer service departments to ensure schedules align with material availability and order requirements.
- Analyze production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks or constraints.
- Adjust schedules as necessary to optimize the use of resources and minimize downtime.
- Communicate production schedules and priorities to the production team.
- Monitor the progress of production activities to ensure adherence to schedules and resolve any issues that arise.
- Ensure that materials and components are available as needed for production.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain department to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collect and analyze production data to evaluate performance against schedules.
- Prepare reports on production status, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and variances.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to initiatives to enhance production efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
