About Progressive Plant Research: We conduct cannabis R&D and breeding in a highly-controlled environment under an OLCC Cannabis Research Certificate. Job Responsibilities:
This is a full-time position, with 5 daytime shifts per week, which will include either a Saturday or Sunday shift.
- Perform identified preventive maintenance on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Conducts physical inspections of the facility, grounds, premises, hallways, common areas, restrooms, etc., noting anything in need of repair, maintenance, clean-up, or is a hazard and reports the same to the appropriate facilities staff.
- Complete daily and weekly systems checks with documentation in accordance with internal standard operating procedures.
- Minor plumbing installation and repair.
- Install and maintain indoor grow and greenhouse equipment such as lights, pumps, irrigation, solenoids, blackout and ancillary HVAC.
- Perform grounds maintenance and landscaping activities.
- Contribute to the development of SOPs, preventative maintenance programs and energy management programs.
- Participate in all required trainings.
- Operate forklift for facility operations and maintenance.
- Maintain and contribute to a safe working environment, following all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of building maintenance, preventative maintenance and grounds maintenance experience.
- Experience and proficiency using a variety of hand tools, power tools and specialty tools.
- Ability to learn and maintain greenhouse environmental control systems and utilize various software programs
- Proven ability to manage time and prioritize work orders, projects and preventative maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively share knowledge with other staff.
- Good analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented, independently motivated, and actively promote a clean and orderly work environment.
- Familiar with safety procedures and regulations.
- Google Workspace and Microsoft Office experience a plus.
- Prior forklift certification or experience a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in indoor or outdoor environments in the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (steel-toed boots, protective eye-wear, hearing protection, etc.) as well as a general office environment.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, grasp, feel and use repetitive motion.
- Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders and scaffolding.
- Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy and manipulate machinery.
- Available for occasional overtime work if needed.
Employment is Contingent on the following:
- Ability to work legally in the US.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Oregon marijuana workers permit if needed.
