What are the responsibilities and job description for the STAMPING OPERATOR position at Progressive Metal Mfg Co?
Title: Stamping Operator Reports to: Production Supervisor
Direct Reports: No
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operation of Stamping Presses
- Material Handling
- Ability or capability of reading/understanding inspection print for first piece approval and part print to make adjustments to tool if needed.
- Ability or capability of reading / understanding control plans and work instructions.
- Continuously and immediately in form management of all equipment malfunctions, production, quality or safety issues.
- Perform necessary housekeeping duties, as instructed, to ensure a safe and clean working area.
- Ability to meet production demands daily.
- Ensure operators have at least two (2) clear exit points that remain clear of obstruction by materials.
- Ensure all nonconforming material is immediately identified, recorded, and then promptly quarantined or disposed of.
Qualifications:
- Experience running medium to heavy manufacturing equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to read specifications, check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, manage physically demanding work, manual dexterity, attention to detail.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with others.

- Basic Safety; Lifting; Quality Assurance; Dependability
- Able to work a long work schedule on short notice 9up to 12 hours a day).
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Stand on feet for long period of time.
Licenses/Certifications:
Hilo License preferred
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidate must possess the ability to use precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, and micrometers.
- Minimum 6 months experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment is required.
- Previous metal stamping experience preferred
- Detail Oriented
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
