JOB SUMMARY
The Driver Check-In role is responsible for interfacing with incoming drivers to direct them to the proper location(s.) This individual communicates with material handlers to determine the most appropriate dock to which driver(s) should be assigned. To be successful in this role an individual must conduct themselves with an even-tempered, positive demeanor in all work-related interactions. Also works within ProCon TMS system and assists in paperwork and U-Route check-in, to include scanning and uploading shipping and receiving documents to U-Route. This role will also take on additional administrative processing as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and communicates incoming shipment/product destinations to drivers
- Determines and communicates building and dock assignments to truck drivers
- Works within and understands company systems (TMS, U-Route, etc.) with ability to use available technology to maximize productivity
- Works collaboratively with a diverse group of peers and other departments while maintaining flexibility regarding work schedule and tasks assigned
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and leaves it that way at the end of each day
Other Functions
- Uses different types of tools and equipment: forklifts, clamps and hand lifts, measuring devices, various hand tools, dial indicators and compactors.
- Assists Material Handlers regarding organization of materials.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Daily contact with co-workers, management, third party vendors and customers requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment. Employee understands they are a representative of the employer.
- Will be required to perform all other duties as requested, directed, or assigned, to include other departments and job tasks.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
