What are the responsibilities and job description for the DAS Support Technician position at PROGRESSIVE COMMUNICATIONS LLC?
The role of the DAS Support Technician is to support our installed base of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). In addition, the individual will be required to have knowledge in performing site assessments, managing support efforts through remote technicians, and providing general oversight of DAS and Public Safety DAS solutions.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Willingness and ability to travel 80-100% of the time (depending on market)
- Complete tasks on scheduled date and within a specified timeframe while offering world-class customer service
- Comply with protocols for communicating status and issues related to work orders
- Perform basic troubleshooting skills with remote hands
- Project-lead small crews to mobilize, support, and integrate cellular and DAS systems
- Use state-of-the-art electronic test equipment, measuring devices, meters, and hand tools to analyze, adjust, install, wire, repair, maintain, and test wireless, transmission, and associated equipment
- Assist with support and installation of fiber and coax cables that inter-connect the DAS and site-RF-related components
- Provide management with feedback and ideas for continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Experience using basic DAS and interconnect equipment (SOLID, ADRF, Comba, etc.)
- Knowledge of ADRF, Comba, CommScope, and SOLID solutions is preferred
- Professional manner, appearance, and discretion in engaging customer
- Use office equipment such as computers and phones, test equipment, and hand tools
- Satisfactory background check including state-specific requirements (e.g., fingerprinting)
- Compliance with client-specific requirements (e.g., immunizations, PPE)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation for coverage area
- Clean background check and clear drug screen
- Self-guided and able to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Carry and monitor company phone, be available and responsive during scheduled and non-scheduled hours, except during rest and meal periods as required by applicable state law
- Flexible in working hours as this position will require customer support during non-regular business hours, mandatory overtime on short notice, and/or weekend work as necessary
- Lift carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, with assistance available
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, and extended reach
- Regular grasping and repetitive hand movements.
