Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Counter Person to join our Chevrolet dealership team. This role is responsible for assisting customers and service technicians in identifying, sourcing, and purchasing automotive parts. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Progressive Auto Group, owner of the Progressive Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram franchises, and a leader in automotive retail are looking to add qualified Parts Counter Person to our team. Progressive Auto Group owns and operates 3 dealerships, representing 7 brands with a state of the art collision center and 3 service centers and a combined total of 30 hoists. The company sells new and used cars and light trucks; arranges financing, vehicle service and insurance contracts; provides maintenance and repair services; and sells replacement parts, along with reconditioning over 300 used cars every month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist retail and wholesale customers with parts inquiries, orders, and purchases
- Work closely with service technicians to ensure accurate and timely parts fulfillment
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date parts inventory system
- Process parts orders, returns, and warranties efficiently
- Utilize dealership software to look up parts, pricing, and availability
- Receive, stock, and label incoming parts shipments
- Keep the parts counter and storage areas clean and organized
- Stay current on Chevrolet parts, accessories, and promotions
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an automotive parts department preferred (GM experience a plus)
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
