What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Coach / Community Integration Support position at Progress Incorporated?
Progress Inc. has been providing day, residential and employment supports for adults with intellectual disabilities and seniors since 1971. Progress is a provider of various community integration (day program) and employment services through DDA, ECF, Vocational Rehabilitation and Social Security’s Ticket to Work funding programs.
Progress is currently seeking qualified applicants for both Job Coach and Community Integration Staff positions. Job Coaches will assist adults with intellectual disabilities at their place of employment with their job duties while Community Integration Staff support them in their community engaging in activities of their choice.
The goal is for the individuals supported to eventually become self sufficient and perform their job independently and become involved in their communities. Ideal candidates will have prior experience assisting the ID/DD population with employment support and / or supporting them with daily living skills in their community. Duties:
- Transport people served when needed
- Provide clearly written documentation of services
- Provide coaching and task reminders to assist individuals to perform their job
- Communicate and interact professionally with business staff, management, customers and employers
- Quality oversight of the job being performed by individual(s) being coached
- Engage people supported in meaningful activities throughout the day
- Assist person supported with activities of daily living when needed
- Assist people supported to achieve their desired goals of employment and community participation
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities strongly preferred
- Must have own reliable transportation, insurance and valid DL
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Must not be listed on any registries reporting fraud or abuse
- Must be able to complete approximately 30 hours of paid pre-service training
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.25 - $18.75 per hour
