Job Description:
Note from the client: The candidate we are looking into is kind of more or RnD role and solutioning and designing the Appian Architecture. Candidate should have knowledge / information on all parts of Appian objects/RPA/AI Features. Should have understating of migration like from Appian on-prem to SaaS.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical owner of the Appian platform - including environment strategy, configuration, performance, and stability.
- Plan and execute Appian upgrades, patches, capacity scaling, and environment refreshes.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, best practices, design patterns, and governance for Appian implementations.
- Collaborate with business, delivery teams, infrastructure, information security, and external vendors to ensure reliable and compliant platform operations.
- Review solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and performance requirements.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high priority incidents.
- Support DevOps/CI-CD pipelines for Appian deployments and promote modern automation practices.
- Maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of hands-on Appian experience, including architecture and environment management.
- Strong understanding of Appian components: Records, Data Fabric/CDTs, SAIL, process models, integrations, plug-ins, RPA.
- Proven experience with upgrades, performance tuning, and environment configuration (Appian Cloud and self managed).
- Solid knowledge of integration patterns (REST/SOAP, queues, JDBC).
- Experience working with security teams on SSO, SAML/OIDC, RBAC, and platform hardening.
- Experience with identity and access management and platform security.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Appian Lead Developer certification.
- Experience working with Appian Support and vendor partners.
- Background in financial services or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring tools (Splunk/ELK/AppDynamics, etc.).
