- The Director of Emergency Services ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s) and department(s), in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring.
- The Director of Emergency Services fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.

Registered Nurse Director candidates for the Emergency Services Department must meet the following minimum job qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- 3 years applicable acute care leadership experience required
- 5 years applicable Emergency Services experience required
- Regulatory compliance expertise — Must demonstrate solid, hands‑on knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to emergency services.
- Trauma leadership experience — Must have served as a Director (or equivalent leadership role) in a Level I or Level II trauma center within a large, high‑volume ER comparable to Mission.
- Minimum tenure requirement — Candidates with fewer than 3–5 years of the above trauma leadership experience will not be considered.
- Performance metrics on résumé — Quantifiable outcomes (KPIs, improvements, operational metrics) must be included.
- Stable work history — Candidates with a pattern of frequent job changes (every 1–2 years) will not move forward.
- Prefer union experience but not required
