The role involves supervising CNAs and support staff, providing direct clinical care, and maintaining accurate documentation of residents' assessments, treatments, vital signs, and laboratory specimens.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN/LPN) to oversee resident care on a designated unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and holistic services in accordance with care plans. The role involves supervising CNAs and support staff, providing direct clinical care, and maintaining accurate documentation of residents' assessments, treatments, vital signs, and laboratory specimens.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol
- Monitor residents' conditions and respond to changes
- Perform clinical procedures such as wound care, injections, and IV care
- Lead and supervise support staff, ensuring policy adherence
- Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care
- Provide emotional support and education to residents and families
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Valid Connecticut RN or LPN license in good standing
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records; PCC experience is a plus
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
