Position Summary: Responsible for operating CNC surface grinder(s) with attention to detail and precise flatness and finish tolerances. Responsibilities include fabricating and polishing/deburring parts and assembly. Must be able to work independently, responsible to complete required tasks in a timely manner. Works with the manager to ensure all fabricated parts and assemblies are machined and assembled to the company’s highest standard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.

• Surface grind parts on manual and/or CNC grinding machines
• Polish and deburr parts according to finish requirements
• Responsible for the cleanliness, organization and general upkeep of the work area
• Responsible for the quality manufacture of parts using approved documentation and procedures within tolerances set forth by the engineer, and to report deficiencies
• Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all work to the highest quality
• Complete daily order processing as assigned
• Speak effectively to customers or employees of organization
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Able to use and read basic measuring devices (measuring tape, calipers, etc.)
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Demonstrate an ability to learn and recognize differences between products
• Capable of performing a variety of tasks under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude as required in accomplishing the task
• Ability to setup and run surface grinder; hold high accuracy flatness and finish requirements
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  
  

Education and Experience: (Required and preferred educational and experiential qualifications)

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years’ experience in an CNC grinder role
• Knowledge of general quality inspection procedures
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing environment
