PPG Staffing is partnering with an established civil engineering firm to hire a Senior Civil Project Engineer for its Phoenix team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Arizona PE who enjoys solving technical challenges, delivering projects, and mentoring others.
Approximately 80% of your time will focus on hands-on engineering and project delivery, with 20% dedicated to project management and client coordination. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, exercise engineering judgment, and help develop the next generation of engineers.
Projects may include water infrastructure, utilities, natural gas pipelines, municipal improvements, drainage, site development, and other civil infrastructure throughout Arizona.
What You Will Do
- Lead civil engineering design, analysis, and project delivery from concept through completion.
- Prepare and review plans, specifications, calculations, reports, cost estimates, permit applications, and construction documents.
- Perform and direct AutoCAD Civil 3D design and production, including base mapping, utility research, conflict identification, and plan preparation.
- Provide senior technical direction and quality assurance/quality control for project deliverables.
- Serve as Engineer of Record and sign and seal engineering documents as required.
- Mentor engineers and coordinate with clients, consultants, agencies, utilities, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Help manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources to support successful delivery.
- Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, fee development, technical approaches, presentations, and business development as needed.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Current Arizona Professional Engineer license, required.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, with the technical depth and independence needed for senior-level project ownership. Engineers with 10 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong hands-on AutoCAD Civil 3D skills.
- Experience in one or more of the following: water infrastructure, utilities, natural gas pipelines, municipal infrastructure, drainage, or site development.
- Ability to independently move projects forward, solve complex problems, and deliver high-quality engineering work.
- Strong communication, client service, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Interest in a role centered on technical engineering, with project management and client coordination responsibilities.
