Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification, and excellent phone etiquette to ensure smooth operations within our medical practice.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Answer incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy, addressing inquiries or directing calls as needed.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Verify patient insurance information and handle medical collections as necessary.
- Maintain patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes for accurate billing and coding support.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical collections.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, including scheduling and record management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in a Medical office is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Athena EHR system.
