We’re growing rapidly and seeking an experienced Controller to strengthen our financial operations and reporting. About the RoleAs Controller, you’ll oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting for the company, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic insight. You’ll work closely with our CFO and senior leadership team to streamline our budgeting, payroll, and reporting processes — helping us make smarter, faster business decisions as we scale nationwide.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and accounting best practices.
- Ensure all job and administrative cost data are properly entered into our accounting system in compliance with GAAP.
- Manage multi-state payroll and drive process improvements for greater efficiency.
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Enhance and monitor internal safeguards for revenue, costs, and company assets.
- Collaborate with project and operations managers to track budgets and job performance.
- Assist the CFO in developing financial benchmarks and long-term growth strategies.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction or field services.
- Strong understanding of job costing, project-based accounting, and GAAP compliance.
- Experience managing payroll across multiple states.
- Proven ability to implement or improve internal financial controls.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Foundation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or similar professional certification.
- Prior experience working with CFOs and senior management on financial strategy.
