Production Lab Technician - Job Description:
The Production Lab Technician will work in a regulated manufacturing environment, performing quality control testing, chemical blending, and in-process testing activities. This role supports product quality and compliance while ensuring raw materials and finished products meet defined specifications and standards.
Production Lab Technician - Responsibilities:
- Perform all work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately complete batch records, test records, and quality documentation.
- Support internal audits, corrective actions (CAPA), deviation investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Sample and test incoming raw materials to verify conformance with supplier Certificates of Analysis (COA).
- Identify, document, and escalate nonconforming materials.
- Measure, weigh, mix, and blend chemicals according to approved formulations.
- Operate and document use of blending, transfer, and production equipment.
- Perform quality testing on bulk liquid and dry chemical batches.
- Comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready lab and production areas.
Production Lab Technician - Mandatory Skills:
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related field.
- 2 years of hands-on experience in a chemistry lab, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working under GMP and ISO-based quality systems.
- Strong understanding of chemical handling and quality control principles.
- Ability to interpret COAs, specifications, and SOPs.
- Strong documentation and data accuracy skills.
- Safety and compliance-focused mindset.
Production Lab Technician – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related field.
- Experience performing analytical and physical testing of chemicals.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and test methods.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Clear communication skills for reporting results and documenting work.
