Associate Scientist - Contract - Tarrytown, NY

Proclinical is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the single-cell Molecular Profiling team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in rare diseases.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will focus on single-cell capturing, library construction, Illumina sequencing, RNA extraction from tissue sections, and histological sectioning and staining.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Working knowledge of Illumina sequencing equipment.
- Experience with NGS library preparation.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR.
- Familiarity with basic histology methods, including FFPE block sectioning and HE staining.
- Ability to read and understand scientific material related to assigned experiments.
The Associate Scientist's responsibilities will be:
- Perform single-cell RNA sequencing protocols and cell culture techniques independently.
- Conduct routine protocols for single-cell RNA sequencing and integrate results to determine next steps.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in experimental processes or results, recommending solutions as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members within the Molecular Profiling group.
- Execute histological techniques such as microtome sectioning, tissue mounting, and staining.
- Operate Illumina sequencing instruments and perform NGS library preparation.
